Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Role Summary:
Manage people, process, machines, and activities related to the production area on 2nd shift, supporting and reporting to the Production Manager. The main goals are following the direction from the Production Manager, ensure compliance with the production schedule and timing, as well safety, productivity and standards of quality.
Be the reference for the employee that work in the production area on 2nd shift, both as machine operator and leader. H&S must be a priority, as well as working in a safe environment.

Your day-to-day might include:
This is a hands-on supervisory role, requiring active participation in machine operations and close collaboration with both the operators and material handling teams
Responsible for the area in terms of productivity, service, quality and safety
Operating a forklift is required
Making sure that products are produced on time and matching quality standards
Overseeing the production process, following the production schedule provided by the Production Manager
Balance workloads with the available resources
Working out the human and material resources needed
Supervising and motivating a team of workers, engage and train them to grow the organization skill and implement the company's policies and goals
Maintain in excellent condition all the equipment used in production (above all but not only rewind machines), ensuring that maintenance programs are respected
Maximize the output of the rewind machines, hitting the target per shift
Capable of managing production unexpected/unpredictable events (breakages, quality issues, …) minimizing machine downtime and keep working safely
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed (policies, procedures, CLBO)
Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes
Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas
Collaborate with the Logistic Supervisor to overseen people and the facility
Constantly working to improve the accuracy of the balance of available stock
Make sure the production worksheets for each machine are done correctly, as well as scrap and recycling paper worksheets, to keep inventory as accurate as possible; declare the production in the ERP
Performs other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a production environment as machine operator (technical background);
Leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential;
Familiarity with product flow management, capacity planning and scheduling required;
Efficient in utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principles; value stream mapping, waste reductions and Five ‘S” Activities;
Possess a “hands-on/lead-by-example leadership style with the energy to continually deliver results. Able to communicate effectively- both verbal and written
Understanding of general safety practices
Ability and willingness to work overtime when required
Education and Qualifications:
At least 1 year of forklift experience desired
Minimum of 5-year experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
High School Diploma or GED
