Procurement Development Manager/Analyst

This role is part of the senior VPI Procurement Management team and plays a pivotal role in supporting the procurement team to optimise sourcing strategies, improve supplier relationships, and drive value across the organisation. You will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for process improvement within a procurement environment. This position is suited to individuals who are results-driven, collaborative, and eager to contribute to the continuous development of procurement practices.
Work Location: Bury St Edmunds/Hybrid - 3 days a week (after initial training period) in the office at Bury St. Edmunds.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
Analyse procurement data, trends, and market intelligence to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
Assist in supplier evaluation, selection, and performance monitoring to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management to inform decision-making and track procurement performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, coordinate sourcing activities, and resolve procurement-related issues
Contribute to the design and optimisation of procurement processes, policies, and tools to enhance efficiency and governance
Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and market developments relevant to procurement.

Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with proven experience of interpreting data to determine outcomes
Proficiency in QlikSense, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, etc. and other data analysis tools; experience with procurement software is advantageous
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including stakeholder management skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with procurement regulations and ethical standards

Desirable:
SharePoint knowledge
Professional certifications such as CIPS or equivalent
Demonstrated track record in process improvement initiatives

Significant experience of industry standard fully integrated ERP systems. IFS experience desired.
