What will I be doing?
Teradek is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Sales Engineer with a passion for presenting innovative technology solutions to command staff, technical teams, and public safety / defense end-users alike. This role is pivotal in driving our sales efforts forward and requires a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment—particularly within the Law Enforcement and Public Safety sectors.
A typical day might include the following:
- Take full ownership of the technical design and architecture of Teradek solutions proposed to partners and customers.
- Serve as a Teradek technical evangelist; skilled in demonstrating and articulating product value to both executive stakeholders and in-depth technical audiences.
- Collaborate with sales managers to support overall account strategy and execution within assigned territories.
- Provide project management support for complex pre-sales engagements, ensuring smooth coordination across teams.
- Lead the completion of technical sections for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs for designated accounts.
- Deliver pre-sales technical and architectural guidance to partners and prospective customers.
- Stay current on industry trends, market developments, and competitive technologies impacting target sectors.
- Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with resellers and system integrators.
- Participate in regional training events and trade shows, including technical setup, demonstration, and system operation.
- Provide post-sales support, both remotely and on-site, when needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong regional relationships with key technology partners.
- Regularly update and create presentation materials to effectively communicate business value and product capabilities.
- Travel 30%–50% of the time
Essential
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of technical pre-sales experience in computer software, digital video, or computer networking, backed by a strong technical foundation.
- Experience working in the Defense, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance), or Public Safety sectors; prior military or law enforcement service is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with aviation ISR and unmanned systems. Part 107 UAS license is a big plus.
- Familiarity with NATO STANAG standards and/or MIL-STD (Military Standards) for video and multiplexed metadata.
- Solid understanding of surveillance workflows, including data-link technologies such as Radio, Microwave, and SATCOM.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey the value of Teradek solutions to both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
- Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Proven track record of building and sustaining strong customer relationships.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, from engineers to senior leadership.
- Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to travel 30%–50% of the time, with no travel restrictions.

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills relevant to the role, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
