Commercial Analyst
Role Summary:
Support the Finance Director and commercial team with ad/hoc analysis relating to the commercial business such as control for customer terms, marketing expenditure, promotion and discount evaluations, sales analysis, pricing set up, weekly and monthly forecasting. Assists with preparation of financial statements and month end closing related to deflators and inventory. All analysis are aimed to identify the organization’s spending patterns and recommend strategies to enhance company profit. This role is part of a global team, ensuring the data integrity as it is recorded in the general ledger monthly. It will support activities related to commercial operations that are precise and provide timely information to support Finance and Sales team members. This includes the proper recording of monthly closing, journal entries and other tasks as assigned related to deflators, inventory and profitability.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Supervise the pricing and value chain model of the company, ensuring that the policy and commercial procedure for prices, promotions and discounts is respected.
- Supervise the customer commercial agreements and claims ensuring that they are properly accounted. This includes monitoring and reporting on a monthly basis the commercial investments by accounts and type.
- Monitor product prices and related profitability by maintaining a proper database of pricing spending by item and account
- Improve the margin reports analysis by customer and product with an adequate qualitative analysis of the performance variances.
- Help prepare weekly intake and sales flash for the preparation of the weekly report, supporting the finance director and Commercial director
- Support the preparation of the monthly closing and reporting to division and internally with focus on revenues and deflators.
- Provide explanation of all variances by account and product.
- Assist with annual budget and forecasts for approval by Management. Monitor the budget by working closely with department heads in meeting their budgetary restrictions.
- Receive and resolve inquiries from Managers regarding monthly sales results and performance.
- Provide internal reports and updated reports to be more useful and efficient, provide external reports as necessary.
- In collaboration with the rest of the department, assure a proper effectiveness of the internal control system accordingly with the Group processes and procedures.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and resolving discrepancies in financial entries, reports, and summaries related to revenue and deflators
- Ensure adequate internal accounting and operating controls are in place to provide accurate financial information for management decision making.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Strong financial analysis capabilities with ability to influence management

Desirable:
- Experience in multinational companies
- IFS or other ERP systems.
Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, math, economic or a related field
- At least 3-5 years of direct experience in a finance role with focus on sales/commercial analysis
- Strong Excel skills with knowledge of Pivot tables and other formulas.
