Development Engineer
Role Summary:
To assist in the engineering development of new products by leading workshop activities on NPD project
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Manufacturing prototype parts using both conventional and CNC (CAD/CAM) machining methods
- Working closely with designers and other team members to refine and develop new products
- Planning and conducting experiments in conjunction with Design, and producing written technical reports based on the findings
- Carrying out complex fault diagnosis, tracing issues to their root cause and, with design engineer, develop solutions to solve problems
- Manufacturing mould tools
- Producing moulded components using a Manumould machine
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Excellent machining and fitting skills
- Sound practical bias
- Good communication skills
- Detailed, methodical approach to fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
- Structured approach to planning and carrying out experiments with strong report writing skills
- Mould tool experience

Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- City and guilds or BTEC equivalent
- Engineering HNC
Desirable:
- HND / Relevant Degree
